Forgiven

This painting deals with the notion of forgiveness. I felt that I needed forgiveness ... and this painting was my way to ask for this from God.
The woman in this painting is tumbling down, through the air. She is holding incense sticks, with their smoky trails going up to heaven like prayers. The cherry blossom has been a symbol of new life, and like God's forgiveness, the cherry blossoms curl down towards the figure as if offering her a second chance.
